The importance of listening - an essential requirement for life

Communication is the most important skill in life. Between reading and writing, speaking and listening, we spend most of our waking hours communicating with others one way or another.

If you grew up, your parents and teachers were to teach a long time, how to read and write, to speak for himself, or at least how to pronounce the more difficult words, but how long someone has to spend to teach you how to listen?

What is listening?

Listening is a skill you can apply what you hear, and should not be confused with the act of hearing itself. Hearing is simply the physical ability, the sounds from my mouth when I hear talk to you.

Listening goes beyond just hearing the sounds or words spoken during a conversation.

Why is it important to hear? And not only to hear?

Note that in the school and a teacher or another student read a chapter from a book or an article that you do not really care? She heard the words, but when the reading was over and the teacher asked you a question that you just could not remember that particular part of the story?

It's because you do not hear that you are listening to.

How do you hear?

Did you ever find yourself in a conversation and knows what to tell you before the other person to finish?

If you listen, you not only hear the sounds, you pay full attention to the speaker and what is being said and you are so with the intent to understand what the speaker wants to say, do not wait until your turn in affected the call.

Wait until the speaker has finished their part before you think about your answer that may be crucial break.

A good listener is alert to visual cues like body language, facial expressions, as well as less obvious audio signals such as sound and display. These signals give you tips on what to say and do the speaker to hear the true meaning behind the words to help you to understand.

The value of listening

You can hear many benefits, including:

• A better understanding of what is said.

• A better understanding of what is expected of you.

• an understanding between you and the increase in speaker, no matter what other differences you may have.

• Human to open up and feel more confidence of those who really listen to them.

• Good listening skills help to avoid misunderstandings or misconceptions.

Good to hear, are in every stage of life, and in almost every profession and career of inestimable value. It is a skill worth practicing and develop.
